Mahindra Bolero BS6 launched in India
Mahindra has launched the new Bolero that is now compliant with the BS6 emission compliance. The new Bolero is now priced at Rs 7.76 lakhs for the base variant while the top-end version of the car is now priced at Rs 8.78 lakhs. All the price are ex-showroom Delhi. With the update, Mahindra has changed a few things in the car including a few cosmetic changes.
The new 2020 Mahindra Bolero gets a new grille at the front with a new bonnet and headlamps. The headlamps get halogen lamps with a new partition. The partition is between the beam light, hazard lamp and the parking light. The front bumper of the Mahindra Bolero has also been updated and it now gets new air dam and redesigned fog lamp housings. At the rear, there are not many changes. It gets a new tail lamp and door handle for the boot release.
To meet with the safety standards, the new BS6 Bolero is now equipped with features like standard dual airbags, high-speed alert, driver and co-driver seatbelt reminder and rear parking sensors as standard.
The Bolero comes powered by the same 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine. It now produces a maximum power of 75 PS and it comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Mahindra has discontinued the 2.5-litre engine and there is no 4X4 system available with the MUV too.
The Bolero is an extremely successful car in India and has remained one of the best-selling vehicles in the UV segment for a long time now. It is also the best-selling car from the Mahindra and has a lot of buyers in the Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
Mahindra has started dispatching the stocks of the Mahindra Bolero BS6 and the deliveries of the vehicle are expected to happen in the coming times. The Bolero is a high volume car and the rugged body and no electronic interference in the car makes it one of the best choices in the Tier-II and Tier-III cities. In fact, the Bolero is so popular that between April 2019 and January 2020, the manufacturer sold close to 53,000 units of the Bolero in the market.
The Bolero was first introduced in the market in the year 2000 and since then, it has remained a high volume product. In the past, the Bolero became the best-selling utility vehicle in the market but the arrival of new-generation cars like Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza toppled the Bolero from the spot.
Mahindra will launch the much-awaited all-new Scorpio and the Thar later this year and both the vehicles are almost production-ready. There are several upcoming cars from the Indian manufacturer and most of them will get heavy-duty updates.
