Next-generation Mahindra XUV500 in a new render

Mahindra is one of the biggest utility vehicle manufacturer in the country and has great line up of cars. Like any other manufacturer in the country, Mahindra is also currently working on upgrading their models to BS6 emission norms. They are also working on upgrading couple of models like Scorpio, Thar and XUV500. Mahindra has been testing these vehicles for quite some time and has been caught under heavy camouflage. Here we have a render that shows how the next-gen Mahindra XUV500 will look like.

The render has been created by SRK designs on their social media page. The render is basically derived from the Funster concept showcased at the Auto Expo this year. The Front of the car is heavily inspired by this concept showcased at the expo. In comparison to the current version XUV500, the next-gen XUV500 looks completely different. Starting from the front, the headlight has been completely redesigned and gets an angular design to it. The headlight now looks more sleeker than before and has LED lights for better illumination. It also has a DRL which is similar to the one seen in XUV300.

The grille of the next-gen XUV500 remains the same with chrome inserts in it. Coming down, the bumper of the car has been completely redesigned. The bumper looks more muscular with black garnish around the LED fog lamp. The air dam looks huge and gives it an imposing look at the front. Further down, there is a black colour skid plate at the bottom.

Apart from that, the render shows a new design to the door handles. They now look like flush door handles and the alloy wheels are also redesigned. The dual tone alloys have been replaced with sporty looking all black alloy wheels. Apart from that nothing much has changed in the rendered image of the upcoming XUV500.

The upcoming XUV500 will be powered by a  litre BS6 compliant diesel engine that will produce around 180 PS of power. With the next update, Mahindra might discontinue the AWD version to keep the costs down. The engine will be available with a manual and automatic transmission. There is a possibility that the upcoming XUV500 might get the 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine that was unveiled at the expo this year. The image shown here is just a render and is completely imagined by the artist itself. There is no guarantee that the next-gen XUV500 will look like this. Mahindra will be launching the all-new XUV500 in early 2021.
