India’s most EXTREME Maruti 800 ‘4X4’: This is IT!

The good old Maruti Suzuki 800 holds a special place in the Indian automobile market. The first front-wheel-drive vehicle to be launched in India became a people’s car and remained a popular vehicle for years. Well, the 800 is not available in the market anymore but there are many well-kept examples of them that you can spot on the roads. With the well-kept examples, many owners of the Maruti Suzuki 800 have tastefully modified them. Well, this Maruti Suzuki 800 here is not an ordinary car. It has gone through extreme transformations and looks nothing less than a monster truck!
Owned by Deepraj Chari, this Maruti Suzuki 800 is located in Goa, India. It is undoubtedly the most extreme modification that you will ever see on an 800. Here is a video that shows more about the car and what modifications have been done to the car.
This Maruti Suzuki 800 is based on the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy platform. The chassis of the Gypsy has been altered to fit the body of the 800. The heavily altered ladder platform now holds the shell of the 800. The suspension kit is a dual-suspension system consisting of the stock Maruti Suzuki 800 and the suspension of the Gypsy. However, the exact details remain unknown. The brightly painted suspension remain visible all the time and look very sporty.

The body sits quite high from the ladder platform of the Gypsy. Even then, the car gets a working snorkel that ensures that the air intake sits much higher and a safer level. There are six lamps in the front. Apart from the headlamps in the stock position, there are additional lamps mounted to the chassis of the car. The fog lamps have a cornering function and are from Hella. The car rides of 30-inch aftermarket alloy rims with Mud Terrain Maxxis tyres. In all, the car has a ground clearance of a massive 580mm! It sure can go over any obstacle on the road.
The car retains the petrol engine of the Gypsy. However, it remains stock as per the video and there are no modifications done to it. But there are additional performance parts that improve the engine’s performance. To start with, the car gets an aftermarket exhaust system with a dual cooling system and more such modifications. It also retains the stock 4X4 system of the Maruti Suzuki Gypsy and also offers the 4X4 low-transfer case that makes it an extremely good off-roading vehicle.

There are many videos of the modified vehicle entering the deep waters and even going on the public roads. The modification job costs around Rs 3 lakhs and you can get your car modified similarly like this in Goa. However, it should be noted that such modification jobs are not legal in India and can be confiscated by the cops. However, you can use them in the private off-road tracks and private places like a farmhouse.
