Nissan Magnite sub-4 meter SUV: Key details about Hyundai Venue rival emerge!

For various reasons popularity for Nissan cars have been going down in the Indian market. Their latest product Nissan Kicks which competes with cars like Hyundai Creta in the segment could also not make any difference. We are all aware that as Indians we love SUVs and Nissan has been doing just that for some time now. They are developing an all-new sub-4 meter compact SUV to compete with the cars like Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon in the segment, the upcoming SUV from Nissan is likely to be called Magnite.



Along with the name the social media post also sheds light on some of the details that are expected to be seen in the upcoming sub-4 meter SUV or Magnite. According to the post the Nissan Magnite is likely to be launched as a feature loaded car. The car is likely to offer features like a touchscreen infotainment system, connected car features and sunroof too. Apart from all the features Nissan might also equip the Magnite with a 360 degree camera which will be a segment-first feature if offered.


Price plays a crucial role when it comes to a market like ours. With Magnite, it is likely that Nissan will pose threat to the competition and is purely aiming at the mass market. The price for upcoming Nissan sub-4 meter SUV is likely to start at Rs 5.25 lakh.



Many manufacturers are switching from diesel to petrol and engine of lately and Nissan will also be doing the same thing. The upcoming SUV is likely to be offered only with a petrol engine. The engine that will be offered are likely to be a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated and a 1.0 litre turbo petrol version.The engine is likely to get a manual along with CVT gearbox as an option. The naturally aspirated one is likely to be the same engine that we have seen in Kwid and Triber and the turbo unit would be the one that is present in other international models from the brand.


Nissan had released an official teaser image and in that it looks like a muscular, tall and sharply designed SUV. It will be built on the CMF-A platform that is used in couple of Renault cars too. Nissan is likely to launch the new compact SUV later this year, after the Corona Virus lockdown concludes. The Magnite could be a make-or-break product for the Japanese automaker’s Indian operations.
