2020 Datsun Redi-Go BS6 Facelift launched: Prices start from Rs 2.83 lakh

For the last couple of weeks, Datsun has been teasing us with images of the upcoming Redi-GO hatchback. They have now finally launched the small hatchback in BS6 avatar. The Datsun Redi-Go is a small hatchback with a tall boy design and competes with cars such as the Maruti Alto 800, Renault Kwid and Maruti S-Presso in the entry-level hatchback segment. Prices for the BS6 version of Redi-GO start from Rs 2.83 lakh ex-showroom, which is the same as BS4 version but going up the trim levels, there is a price hike of up to Rs 54,000.

The facelifted Datsun Redi-GO BS6 version gets cosmetic updates to give it a fresh look. The front of the car has been updated with a bigger and deeper honeycomb grille with chrome garnish around it. The headlamps also get minor revisions and the shape of the LED DRLs are new. They now get an ‘L’ shape design with fog lamps at the end of it. The bumper has been completely revised too. Overall, the BS6 version of Redi-GO gets a much bolder look than the BS4 version.

The side profile of the car looks identical to the older version and the rear gets a new set of LED tail lamps. Prices for the BS6 version start at Rs 2.83 lakh ex-showroom and go up till Rs 4.77 lakh, ex-showroom. Datsun has also discontinued the top end S trim, and the tall-boy hatchback is now available in D, A, T, T(O) and T(O) AMT trims only.

On the inside, interiors have received an update in terms of features. The dashboard has been redesigned and looks a bit more upmarket. The car now boasts of a new touchscreen infotainment screen, instrument cluster and a new steering wheel. Even the knobs for air-co have been redesigned. The facelifted Redi-Go also gets safety features like dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking camera and sensors.

The car continues to be offered with two engine options. Both run on petrol and are now BS6 complaint. The first one is an 800-cc, petrol engine that generates 54 PS and 72 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Second, is a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 68 PS and 91 Nm of torque. The 1.0 litre engine is available with both 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT gearboxes.
