Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 Motorcycle in a walkaround review video

Earlier this year, Swedish motorcycle brand Husqvarna made its debut in the Indian market with two retro-modern motorcycles – Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250. Both the motorcycles are based on KTM Duke 250, and are sold in India through KTM dealerships. Both motorcycles were unveiled before the official launch at the India Bike Week in December 2019. Husqvarna motorcycles have a distinct design and character in comparison to the KTMs on which they are based on. Vitpilen is meant to be a cafe racer, and has an aggressive riding position whereas the Svartpilen is designed as a scrambler, with an upright riding position. Here we have a video that shows how the Husqvarna Vitpilen actually feels to ride on Indian roads.

The video has been uploaded by Lokesh Swami on his Youtube channel. The video starts by showing the overall look of Vitpilen motorcycle. As mentioned above, it has unique design that turns heads. The motorcycle uses a steel trellis frame, USD forks at front and mono-shock suspension at the rear. The headlight on this motorcycle has a round LED strip running around it. It gets LED turn indicators, headlights and tail lights.

The body panels look seamless, and the bike has a very small and muscular fuel tank. It gets digital instrument cluster, dual channel ABS, clip on handle bars and grab rail at the rear. The vlogger takes the motorcycle for a spin and is very impressed with the power. He reports back that it has a punchy engine and the exhaust note is not that loud either. This motorcycle is definitely  head turner as we have not seen such a thing on our roads.

Overall, the vlogger returns impressed with the performance and he also mentions that there was minimal vibrations on the handlebar and foot pegs. It has Vitpilen badging on fuel tank and Husqvarna logo on various parts of the body. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 motorcycle is based on KTM Duke 250 and uses the same engine too. It is powered by 248-cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine that generates 31 bhp of peak power and 24 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. It is priced at Rs 1.80 lakh, ex-showroom and we are yet to see one our roads as all the dealerships were closed due to the nationwide lockdown.

New bookings for the KTM range of sportsbikes and Husqvarna range of retro-modern motorcycles will see a big delay in deliveries. Bajaj Auto estimates waiting periods of up to 3 months for these motorcycles due to COVID-19 related production disruptions.
