Maruti 800 gets stuck: Elephant to the rescue [Video]

Elephants are one of the most intelligent animals and they are often domesticated in India. Elephants are domesticated for various reasons like maneuvering to the trickiest areas and bringing back wooden logs while many others use them for other purposes. Well, the elephants can be extremely powerful and in the past, we have seen them rescuing cars from difficult situations. Here is another video that shows a domesticated elephant pulling out a Maruti Suzuki 800 from a deep ditch without any problem.

The incident happened in Kerala but the exact location is not known. The car can be seen in the ditch while there are many people trying to pull it out. The adult elephant can be seen with a rope pulling the car out of the ditch. The elephant tries pulling out the vehicle for a couple of times after which, it powerfully brings the vehicle out of the ditch.

The elephant single-handedly took the vehicle out of the ditch. It should be noted that the elephants are extremely powerful and an adult elephant can lift from 300 kg to 500 kg using the trunk, which is quite heavy. Pulling out the 800 from the ditch should not have been a big problem for the animal anyway.

This is not the first time that an animal has been used to rescue vehicles in India. In the past, elephants have rescued even bigger vehicles like Scorpio and have helped to pull out trucks. However, they can also turn out to be violent and can bring havoc. There have been many incidents where circus elephants went out of control and overturned cars and destroyed property. Elephants also regularly encounter humans on the green corridors across India and in many incidents, they have attacked the vehicles. Keeping wild animals as domesticated pets can cause a lot of issues on the animal’s mental health too.

Elephants are widely used as domesticated animals in many parts of India. Since they are highly intelligent, they are trained to lift up weights and do stunts to attract the crowds that make money to the owner. However, there are many animal rescue groups that work tirelessly to bring such animals to freedom. While facing a wild elephant or any other animal on the road, there are a few things that should be kept in mind.

To start with, the animals do not want to hurt you unless they think that you’re a threat to them. It is always a good idea to be patient, wait for the animals to go away on their own and give them space. Never go too close to a wild animal or try to feed them food. It can all go wrong really quickly.
