Certain dealerships have also started taking unofficial booking for the S-Cross petrol at Rs 11,000. The BS6 complaint S-Cross will be available in Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims only. In terms of design and features, everything remains the same. The main difference in the BS6 version would be the engine itself. The BS4 version of S-Cross was available with a 1.3 litre diesel engine only. As part of their new initiative, Maruti is now dumping all their diesel engines and is concentrating more on petrol and CNG powered cars.

The BS6 version of S-Cross will be powered by the in-house developed 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. It is the same engine that is used in Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6 and the new 2020 BS6 Vitara Brezza. The engine generates a maximum of 105 Bhp and 138 Nm of torque. It will be available with a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Just like other Maruti cars, S-Cross will also be getting the Smart Hybrid system which will help it with torque assist at lower rpms, and also help increase the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. The S-Cross will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta. It’ll be Maruti’s most expensive car on sale, and will sit above the Brezza in terms of positioning. The S-Cross will continue to be sold through NEXA dealerships.
