Amid the current Corona virus situation in the country most of the manufacturers have suspended their operations and have plans to resume operations with new safety norms to provide a safer and hygenic buying experience to its customers. India’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has announced that under the current circumstances, where there is no vaccine for the Corona virus, they are gearing up to keep customer safety at core and have come up with a comprehensive standard operating procedure for all its showrooms across the country.

Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Managing Director and CEO, Maruti Suzuki India said,

Customers satisfaction and safety is our top priority. All our dealerships have put in place steps to ensure complete safety, hygiene and sanitization of all touchpoints. I would like to assure our customers that your car buying experience with Maruti Suzuki is completely safe.

He also added that not just dealerships, the manufacturing facilities and service station will also be completely sanitized. The new standard operating procedures have been developed by a team of experts at Maruti Suzuki. They have evaluated all aspects of customer interaction, from the time he or she walks into the dealership till the delivery. Adequate measures have been taken to offer a safe, hygienic and a virus free environment to customers.

As part of the new operating procedures, Maruti Suzuki is asking the customers to choose the car and related accessory online. This feature will also help customer explore the produ portfolio and see a digitally version of the car chosen with accessories on it too. Customer can also book the car and also submit documents for vehicle purchase legally.

The test vehicles will also be sterilized before handing it over to a customer to ensure maximum safety. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki is also offering door step delivery of vehicles where the staff visiting customer’s house will follow safety protocol which include wearing masks, carrying sanitizers and the car would be completely sanitized before handing it over to customer.

In case of delivery from dealerships, only limited number of persons would be encouraged and every dealership will have hand sanitizers at every touchpoint. Health of the employees will also be monitored using an app everyday. Thermal scanning, availability of sanitizers, staggered lunch timings and compulsory wearing of face masks throughout the working hours and commutation will also be implemented. Maruti has also conducted workshops to train dealership staffs across the country to maintain hygienic environment for its customers in the coming months.
