Skoda Kamiq Scoutline SUV revealed
Skoda has revealed the Kamiq Scoutline, ahead of its international launch in July 2020. The SUV becomes the brand’s first model to be released with a ‘Scoutline’ variant, which is based on the Ambition trim.
On the outside, the Kamiq Scoutline features black plastic cladding around the wheel arches, ‘Scoutline’ badging on the front fenders, a faux front skid plate and rear diffuser finished in silver, and 17-inch alloys as standard, with 18-inchers being optional. Much like the ‘Scout’ models in Skoda’s line-up, the Scoutline gets the side sills, wing mirrors and roof rails finished in silver.
Inside, the Kamiq Scoutline gets an all-black theme with “breathable ThermoFlux fabric and Suedia microfibre” upholstery, ash-wood trim on the dashboard, leather-wrapped steering and gear lever and pedals finished in aluminium. LED ambient lighting is a part of the package and buyers can also opt for a dark brushed finish on the dashboard and black roof lining as optional extras.
The Kamiq Scoutline can be had with three petrol engines, one diesel engine and one G-TEC (CNG-powered) engine. Outputs for the motors range between 90hp and 150hp.
The Skoda Kamiq Scoutline for Europe is based on the MQB A0 platform that is also shared with the European-spec Volkswagen T-Cross SUV. As part of the India 2.0 plan, Skoda will bring in a fresh SUV here, which will be based on the Kamiq but will sit on a made-for-India MQB A0 IN platform. The company previewed the SUV earlier this year as the Vision IN concept. Check it out here.
