Skoda Rapid turbo petrol is CHEAPER than Volkswagen Polo TSI & Hyundai Aura Turbo!
Skoda recently launched three new cars in the Indian market – Skoda Karoq, facelifted Skoda Rapid and facelifted Skoda Superb. The most affordable of the lot is the Skoda Rapid facelift and the brand has surprised everyone with the price tag of the mid-size sedan. The base variant of the Rapid is available for Rs 7.49 lakhs, which makes it cheaper than the likes of Hyundai Aura Turbo and even the Volkswagen Polo TSI, which is a hatchback and uses the same engine.
The new Skoda Rapid is available in five variants. There is Rider, Ambition, Onyx, Style and Monte Carlo. Skoda started taking official bookings way back in March and then reduced the booking amount in April. Here are the variant-wise prices of the Skoda Rapid Turbo.

The mid-size Rapid takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City, Hyundai Verna and the likes. The Rapid is only available with a petrol engine option. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates a maximum power of 110 PS and peak torque of 175 Nm. It gets a six-speed manual transmission and there is also 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. Hyundai Aura is also available with other engine options and the base price starts at Rs 5.8 lakh.
The Skoda Rapid facelift gets a few minor changes. It gets a set of new alloy wheels and boot lip spoiler. The cabin continues to offer a similar design and layout that remains unchanged. Skoda has not even changed the colour theme of the cabin and it continues to offer the same beige and black scheme. The Onyx version gets a grey and black theme with leatherette seat covers. The top-end version gets a few design changes that distinguish it from the rest of the variants. Skoda has also added new features like standard four airbags, ABS with EBD, a rear camera, automatic headlamps and wipers, LED DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, climate control system, auto-dimming, rear AC vents, cruise control system and more.
