Tata Tiago Facelift: New TVC out

Tata Motors earlier this year had launched an updated faclifted version of their entry level hatchback Tiago in the market. Tiago has been a popular hatchback in the segment and competes with cars like Maruti S-Presso, Renault Kwid in the segment. Tata Tiago is also one of the safest car in the segment with 4-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests. Tata has now released a new TVC online that stresses on safety bits and other features that are available in the facelifted, 2020 Tiago.

The video has been uploaded by Tata Motors on their youtube channel. The video mentions about the current situation of the country due to the spread of pandemic. All the sectors were affected by the pandemic and the lockdown that follwed after it. Now manufacturers are partially starting to open dealerships and facilities and the main motive behind this video is to boost up the spirits of the buyers so that more people could come forwards and buy cars. It also promotes government’s new philosophy ‘ Vocal for Local’ that promotes use of more and more locally made products over imported ones.

Tata Tiago BS6 version gets a couple of changes in comparison to the BS4 version. Starting from the front, it gets a revised headlamps and front grille. The bumper has also been redesigned that gives it a bold look. The side profile of the car looks more or less the same as before with dual tone alloys wheels for the top-end trims. At the rear, the tail lights get a similar design but the boot and the bumper have been revised. The Tiago badging is now placed on the centre of the boot.

On the inside, it gets features like touchscreen infotainment screen, fully digital instrument cluster, ABS, airbags, rear parking sensors and camera and so on. The BS4 version of Tiago was available with both petrol and diesel engine. When the car was updated to meet new emission norms, the diesel variant was discontinued.

Tata Tiago BS6 is now available only with a 1.2 naturally aspirated engine only. The engine is available with a 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options. Price for 2020 Tata Tiago starts at Rs 4.6 lakh, ex-showroom. Tata has also started online retail service ‘Click to Drive’ using which a person can book or purchase a  vehicle online without physically visiting the dealerships. Going forward, this is likely to be the norm rather than the exception.
