Bajaj Dominar 400 vs BMW G310 GS in a top-end race [video]

Bajaj Dominar 400 is the flagship motorcycle from the brand. It is a power cruiser motorcycle than can munch miles without breaking a sweat. It recently got the BS6 update and is also the most powerful motorcycle from Bajaj. BMW G 310 GS on the other hand is an adventure tourer and is one of the affordable motorcycles from BMW. Both Dominar and 310 GS belong to entirely different categories but they both are made for long distance touring. Here we have a video that shows the Bajaj Dominar 400 and BMW G310 GS in a highway top-end battle. Which motorcycle will win the race? Let’s find out.

The video has been uploaded by Suraj Verma on his youtube channel. The video simply shows Bajaj Dominar facelift which comes with USD fork and the BMW G310 GS adventure tourer motorcycle on a highway. The race is conducted in two rounds. In the first round, vlogger is riding the Dominar 400. The race starts and both G310 GS and the Dominar moving off the line almost at the same time, eagerly trying to get the pole position.

Both motorcycles remained next to each other till 100 kmph mark. After that, the Dominar started showing off its bigger displacement, and taking the lead. The G310 GS rider was right behind the Dominar but due to the windblast, he could not overtake and achieve the top speed of the motorcycle. Dominar maintained the lead throughout the race and won the first round.

Before starting the second round, riders switch the motorcycles and the vlogger is now riding the G 310 GS. The race starts and the result is the same. Due to the adventure bike design, BMW G310 GS was not able achieve its top speed on the highway and because of more streamlined design and the more powerful engine, Dominar managed to pull away at ease.  The Dominar 400 is slightly more powerful than BMW. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a 373-cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine generating 39.4 Bhp and 35 Nm of torque. The BMW G310 GS is powered by a 313-cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which generates a maximum of 34 Bhp and 28 Nm of torque. While the BMW was launched at Rs. 3.49 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi, the bike was almost always sold at hefty discounts of Rs. 50,000 or more. The 2020 version is likely to get a steep price cut to become more attractive to prospective buyers.
