BS6 Harley-Davidson Street Rod gets Rs 56,000 discount

Harley-Davidson has reduced the price of its second most affordable motorcycle, the Street Rod, by Rs 56,000, taking its price down to Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has said that this limited period offer is only available if you option the bike in the Vivid Black colour scheme. The other three colour options (Performance Orange, Stone Washed White Pearl and River Rock Grey Denim) will cost Rs 68,500 more.

At this price, the Street Rod still costs Rs 65,000 more than the BS6 Street 750 – a bike it shares its engine with. However, the 749cc, v-twin engine develops 65Nm in the Street Rod, while it's tuned to make 59Nm in the Street 750. The Street Rod is positioned as the more premium motorcycle of the two, with features like USD front fork, gas charged twin shocks and twin front discs.

The company also recently announced that the BS6-compliant Street 750 and Street Rod will be available at Canteen Store Departments (CSD) across India. The CSD caters to the armed forces and offers products, including automobiles, at special rates. The Harley-Davidson Street 750 and Street Rod, likewise, will be available for armed forces personnel, ex-servicemen and their dependents as well. The special price of the Street 750 is Rs 4.6 lakh while the Street Rod is priced at Rs 5.65 lakh. Both prices, ex-showroom, India.
