Honda recalls over 65,000 cars in India to replace fuel pump

• Recall affects 65,651 cars in India
• Models manufactured in 2018 are impacted
• Replacement of fuel pump to be carried out for free in a phased manner starting from June 20, 2020

Honda Cars India has issued a recall for 65,651 models made in 2018 to preventively replace the fuel pump. The brand has said that the fuel pumps “may contain defective impellers, which could, over time, result in engine stopping or not starting”. 

The models affected by this recall include the Honda Amaze compact sedan, City midsize sedan, Jazz premium hatchback, WR-V cross-hatch, BR-V MPV, Brio hatchback and CR-V SUV. The number of models affected is listed below:

Honda customers will be notified individually if their cars are covered under this campaign. They can also run a check on the Honda India website by submitting their 17 Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

The replacement of the potentially faulty fuel pump will take place free of charge at Honda dealerships across the country, from June 20 onwards.
