India’s first modified KTM Adventure 390 is here [Video]

Adventure motorcycles have started becoming popular among Indian buyers. In the last couple of years manufacturers have started introducing affordable adventure tourer motorcycles such as Hero Xpulse, RE Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS. One of the latest entrants in this segment is the KTM 390 Adventure. It is one of the most powerful and feature loaded motorcycle in this price range and was first showcased first at the IBW 2019. It has officially gone on sale in our market and many have even bought it. Here we have a video that shows one such KTM 390 Adventure that has been modified to make it a better adventurer tourer.

The video has been uploaded by Strell on his youtube channel. The video basically shows what all modifications have been done to the 390 Adventure and how did it help improve the overall riding experience. All these modifications on the bike were done by Bengaluru based Art of Motorcycles. The video starts by showing the rear of the motorcycle. The grab rail has been removed and has been replaced with a saddle stay. This will help rider mount his panniers or any other luggage on both sides without much difficulty. It also has a Aluminium tail rack for top boxes which can easily be mounted on them.

The mudguard at the rear has been removed ans replaced with a tail tidy for better looks. Looking at the side profile, the main change one would notice is the new exhaust. It is a custom made unit which has a grunty feel to it. Towards the front it gets, a pair of auxiliary lamps that that makes riding at night on our roads much more easier. The handle bars on the stock motorcycle were placed very low which made it difficult for riders to do saddling. The handlebar now gets risers which increases the height. It also gets Acerbis knuckle guards.

The engine of the motorcycle remains untouched and is powered by the same 373-cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine producing 43 Bhp and 37 Nm of torque. Total cost of this modification is Rs 35,700 which breaks up as Rs 2,500 for saddle stay, Rs 4,500 for tail rack, Tail tidy for Rs 1,200, knuckle guards for Rs 10,000, auxiliary lamps at Rs 5,000 per pair and Rs 12,500 for the custom exhaust.
