India’s SCARIEST roads to drive after dark
There is no doubt that we all have heard paranormal stories from our elders but as things change, most of us don’t believe in any such thing. While many locals claim that paranormal activities do happen, it can be all situational and a sound of wind or a shadow of trees can play games with your minds. Nonetheless, it does not matter if you believe in paranormal or not, here are ten roads in India that might raise your senses and make you scared.
Delhi Cantonment
Covered under lush thick threes, the Delhi Cantonment area is one of the greenest parts of the city. However, there are too many stories of a lady dressed in white roaming around on the roads. The stories go like that the lady ask the passerby for a lift if he does not stop, she starts to run along with the car and sometimes gets inside too. Many say that it is the spirit of a woman who died in a fatal accident.
East Coast Raod, Chennai

The East Coast Road (ECR) is a lovely drive during the day. It connects Chennai and Puducherry and runs along the seashore of the Arabian Sea. However, it remains unlit and has forest and empty secluded stretches in between. There have been a few visuals of a woman with a toddler roaming around. The locals say that the died in an accident several years ago.
Blue Cross Road, Chennai
The Blue Cross Road in Basant Nagar has a thick cover of trees and is a single lane road. The road has seen an unusual number of suicides in the past, especially because it remains secluded. The locals do no cross the road at night and believe that the spirits of the dead scare away people at night.
NH-2019 Sathyamangalam Wildlife Sanctuary
This was a stronghold area of Veerappan, the infamous dacoit. A lot of people were killed in the area by him and the locals and villagers keep on reporting loud screams and ghost-like figures moving around in the area. It is not known if it is actually paranormal or activities are done by the troops of Veerappan.
Kashedi Ghat
This is between Mumbai-Goa and it is one of the most scenic and trickiest roads ever. A lot of accidents have been reported from this region in the past. As per the locals, a person suddenly appears in front of the vehicle asking them to stop. People who do not stop or run over the ghost are said to meet with fatal accidents.
Jamshedpur-Rachi
This part of the country is severely hit by the Naxalites and the route becomes very dangerous at night. The Naxals stop people and loot them at night. Also, locals say that many ghost-like features have been spotted on the roads but this can just the Naxals in different clothes. This stretch a lot of temples and many pay these temples a visit before going ahead.
Beasant Avenue, Chennai
This is another road in Chennai which is said to be affected by paranormal activities. According to the people who live around in the city, a playful ghost hits and slaps the passerby randomly. Also, an unnatural force throws around people on the road.
Kasara Ghar, Mumbai-Nasik
The Mumbai-Nashik stretch has plenty of forest cover. The stretch has a lot of tree cover and people have reported that they have seen human figures sitting on the top of the trees. Many have also reported that they have seen a headless lady in white clothes on the tree.
Marve and Madh Road, Mumbai
Many believe that this road is haunted by a bride who was brutally murdered and dumped in the mangrove forest on the night of her wedding. The locals believe that the lady comes back and stands in front of the vehicles. Because of this, many accidents have happened where people have swerved to avoid her.
Igorchem Road, Goa
This is the road behind ‘Our Girl of Snows’ church. This stretch is said to remain haunted even during the day. It is not known why the area remains haunted but many have shared their scary experiences even while going through the road during the day.
