Next-gen Honda WR-V based on the new Jazz: What it’ll look like

Honda had plans to launch a couple of new and updated models to Indian market earlier this year but, all these launches got delayed because of the spread of COVID-19 and the lockdown followed by that. One of the models that they had teased us with some of their images was the BS6 compliant updated WR-V. The updated WR-V has already started reaching dealerships and looks much more matured than the BS4 version. Honda has started taking the bookings for WR-V and will be launching it officially in the market soon. Meanwhile, here we have a rendered image that shows how the next-generation WR-V might look like.

The renders have been created by the Brazilian artist Kleber Silva who has created many such renders in the past. The next-gen WR-V, from the images, looks a bit more flamboyant. It has a premium looking front design which will easily remind us of Honda’s BR-V. The grille however has a few tweaks that give the next-gen WR-V a distinct look. The bumper is the next updated bit with a wide black band running across it. On both the ends of black strip, it has fog lamps and LED DRLs on it. The lower part of the bumper also gets a small splitter which gives it a sporty front.

Looking at the side profile, it suddenly starts resembling the new 2020 Honda Jazz hatchback a lot.  The other noticeable change is dual tone premium looking alloy wheels that give the car a bit more character. The typical WR-V character is maintained here with plastic claddings on wheel arches and side skirts. Moving to the rear section, the tail lights has slightly modified modified from the new Honda Jazz. It has more soft edges and also has an LED strip connecting both the tail lights.

The bumper on this render is also redesigned and the next-gen WR-V now comes with twin exhaust tips and a black cladding. The soon to be launched BS6 version of WR-V will be available with a 1.2 litre petrol engine generating 88 Bhp and 110 Nm of torque and a 1.5 litre diesel engine generating 98 Bhp and 200 Nm of torque. Both engines would only be getting a manual gearbox and the price is likely to go up with the BS6 updates. The next-generation version of this compact crossover is likely to get the same engine and gearbox combination, but with a mild hybrid powertrain accompanying the petrol motor.
