This Mahindra Bolero with built-in toilet is a dream of every camper [Video]

Mahindra Bolero is an extremely versatile MUV and it has been around for years now. With the limited number of clean toilets on the Indian roads and highways, it becomes extremely difficult during the long journeys. Well, this Mahindra Bolero from Kerala is now equipped with an in-built toilet, which means that you will not have to loiter around to look for a clean washroom.

The modification job has been done by Ojes Automobiles, who have been involved in numerous customisation jobs and even have worked on the vehicles of superstars like Mammootty, Prithviraj and more. Ojes Automobiles are into coachbuilding and caravan customisation business. The modification has been incorporated without changing the structure of the vehicle in any way. Also, the cost of this job is about Rs 65,000.

It is a fully functional vacuum toiler that you get to see in the aeroplanes. The third row of the Mahindra Bolero has been completely removed to make space for the toilet. The western-styled seat has been imported to fit sideways in the Bolero. That’s not it, there are faucets, soap and sanitizer for ensuring good hygiene. For water management, there are two separate tanks in the Bolero. There is one to supply freshwater and the other one collects wastewater. These tanks are made up of GRP coated aluminium that lasts for years. An elaborate 12V electrical system draws power from the vehicle’s battery.

Similar toilets have been installed in many other vehicles including the caravan of Mammootty and Prithviraj. Ojes Automobiles say that any vehicle that has a roof height of 40 inches from the floor can easily accommodate such a fully-functional toilet seat. Also, the modifications are not permanent and it can be removed whenever required.

It sure looks like a modification that many of us can use during our long-distance journeys.  From the outside, there are no changes to the vehicle and the last row windows have been covered with opaque curtains. The owner of this Mahindra Bolero says that he has done it for his clients who often go on long-distance journeys.

There are many kinds of dry toilets and camping toilets that you can buy in the market. However, they need to be set-up before one can use it. The one in the Mahindra Bolero is ready to use whenever required.

The new invention has received a lot of applause from all around including Anand Mahindra, who is the head of the Mahindra and Mahindra group. So next time you’re unable find a clean washroom on the highway, do think about this installation and call up Ojes Automobiles for more details.
