Kia Sonet compared to Seltos in a side-by-side comparison video

Introduced in the market last year, Kia Motors India had a good start with their first product Seltos. The Seltos was so popular that within an year’s time Kia managed to sell over one lakh units of the compacr SUV. Now they have launched their third and most affordable model – the Sonet compact SUV, which competes with Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Ford EcoSport in the sub-4 meter segment. Prices for Kia Sonet start at Rs 6.71 lakh, ex-showroom. Here we have a video that compares Kia Sonet and Seltos, showing all the features that both SUVs have in common, and also the features that that the Sonet offer over the Seltos.

The video has been uploaded by Indian Car Guruji on their youtube channel. The video starts by comparing the engine options and dimensions of the SUV. Vlogger has gone for top-end GT Line versions which comes loaded with features to the brim. Both Seltos and Sonet GT Line versions come with red accents on the front bumper, side body cladding, rear bumper, front brake caliper and alloy wheels.

Kia Seltos is a mid-size SUV and the Sonet is a sub-4 meter compact SUV. That means, Seltos is a segment above Sonet and is bigger in dimensions and offers more space on the inside. Seltos and Sonet are both available with one diesel and two petrol engine options with variety of gearbox options.

Seltos and Sonet share the same 1.5 litre diesel engine. It is available with a manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. Seltos gets a 1.5 litre petrol engine that gets iVT and manual whereas the Sonet gets a 1.2 litre petrol engine with manual gearbox only. Coming to the turbocharged unit, Seltos gets a 1.4 litre turbo petrol unit with manual and DCT gearbox and the Sonet gets a 1.0 litre turbo petrol unit with iMT and DCT gearbox.

Seltos offers a long list of features like 360 degree camera, HUD, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment screen, ventilated seats, electric sunroof and so on. Kia Sonet on the other hand doesn’t offer 360 degree camera and HUD but offers features like ventilated seats, electric sunroof, 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment screen, integrated air purifier with HEPA filter, AC vents for rear passenger, wireless phone projection, semi digital instrument cluster and so on

Kia Sonet is notjust offering features that are not available in other cars in the segment but, also offers features that are rarely seen in the cars from a segment above. It offers UVO connect with over 50 connectivity features. Kia has launched the Sonet in the market and the cars have already started reaching the dealerships. Prices start at Rs 6.71 lakh and go up to Rs 12.89 lakh, ex-showroom.
