All-new 2020 Mahindra Thar as a family car? YouTuber takes aged parents on a ride to experience [Video]

Mahindra recently announced the prices for the all-new Mahindra Thar and bookings of the same have also started. The test drive vehicles have started reaching dealerships and the delivery for customers would starts from next month only. One of the main questions that Mahindra Thar customers always had from the beginning is, can the new Thar be a family car? The first generation Thar was very crude and was not suitable for families for many reasons. The new-gen however is a huge improvement and here we have a video, that shows a Youtuber trying to check whether the all-new Mahindra Thar can be a family car or not.

The video has been uploaded by Superider Shivam on his youtube channel. The youtube initially explains his plan and the point that he is trying to prove. Meanwhile, he would also be analysing the looks, comfort, refinement of the new Thar. The co-passenger seat on the all-new Thar has to be pushed forward, so that passengers can get in to the rear seat. The vlogger seats makes his father and the showroom executive sit at the rear seat while his mother sits on the co-passenger seat.

The vlogger and his family were pretty impressed with the fit and finish of the SUV. The new Thar was comfortable inside the city limits too and in congested roads of Delhi, it had a great road presence. The Mahindra Thar has grown in size and offers more space on the inside. Vlogger’s father can be heard saying in the video that he can sit comfortably at the rear. The only negative that he felt here was that lack of under thigh support.

The Thar felt very comfortable on the road and the suspension was a bit towards the softer side too. Even though the vlogger was driving a diesel LX variant, the NVH levels were very impressive. It now comes with both petrol and diesel engine and both engines offer a manual and an automatic gearbox.  The 2.2 litre diesel engine generates 130 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque whereas the 2.0 litre turbo petrol engine generates 150 Bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque.

Overall, the family was very impressed with the ride of the new Thar but, they felt like if anyone has parents who are very old or have difficulty in walking, then Thar is not meant for them. If you are a person who loves to explore and are young at heart, then this SUV can be your perfect partner.
