India’s first modified Tata Altroz looks HOT

Tata Motors launched their first ever premium hatchback in the market earlier this year. Tata Altroz competes with cars like Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno in the segment. It is currently the safest car in the segment with a 5 star rating at Global NCAP crash test. Even though the Altroz has been around for a while, we have not seen a good example of modified Altroz on the road. This is about to change as what we have here is probably India’s first modified Tata Altroz hatchback.

The images of this modified Tata Altroz has been shared on Instagram by human._being_ . The owner has not gone wild with the modifications but, has some subtle changes to enhance the overall look of the car. The Downtown Red colour of the Altroz looks very good and looking at the shine, it feels like, the owner has done ceramic coating on the car. The front of the car is as normal as the stock car except for the lower part of the bumper. It gets a gloss black lip spoiler at the front and the chrome strip running around the headmlamp and the grille has been blacked out too.

The side profile of the car looks the same as a stock car, except for the new aftermarket alloy wheels. The roof and the ORVM have already been blacked out and the whole car looks a bit more premium than before. It is not known whether the interiors of this hatchback has also been redone. Same is the case with engine.

Tata Altroz is available with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5 litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine generates 83 Ps and 113 Nm of torque. The diesel version of the hatchback generates 90 Ps and 200 Nm of peak torque. Both petrol and diesel engine options of the the hatchback are currently available with a manual transmission only. Tata is also working on a new turbocharged petrol version of the Altroz hatchback. It is expected to generate 110 Ps and 140 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated a manual transmission and there is a possibility that, Altroz turbo petrol version might get a DCT gearbox as well.
