Kia Sonet HTE: CHEAPEST variant explored inside-out [Video]
Kia recently announced the prices for their new Sonet, sub-4 meter compact SUV. Just like Seltos, Sonet also became quickly became popular among buyers and is now a very common sight on our roads. Kia has already received 50,000 bookings for the SUV in such a short span of time. Sonet is available with a long list of features and variety of engine options but, what does the entry level variant of the Kia Sonet offer. Here we have a video that explores HTE variant of the Sonet SUV.
The video has been uploaded by Area of Interest on their youtube channel. The video starts by showing the exterior and then moves to the interior. HTE is variant gets the signature Tiger Nose grille at the front but, it does not get a gloss finish or chrome garnishes like higher variants. The HTE trim gets silver coloured garnishes around the front grille. Higher variants get all LED headlamps whereas the HTE gets conventional type of headlamps and turn indicators.

The base variant does not even offer fog lamps. Moving to the side profile, the car gets 15 inch regular steel rims with Kia wheel covers and the turn indicators are mounted on the side fenders instead of ORVMs. The door handles and window line do not get chrome garnishes too. It does not even come with silver roof rails. The rear profile pf the car gets regular split tail lamps with reflector bar running between the lamps and the boot has Sonet badging. The skid plate is the same as seen at the front with silver finish to it.
On the inside, Sonet offers an all black interior with manual AC control and steering mounted controls for the instrument cluster. Instrument cluster is the same as seen in the higher trims. HTE variant does not offer a touchscreen infotainment screen but, there is a provision for installing an aftermarket unit. There is power window option for the front whereas the rear gets manual setup. The ORVMs can be adjustable electrically even in the base variant.
It does not offer push button start, electric sunroof, rear parcel tray, cruise control and so on. Sonet is available with a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual gearbox, a 1.5 litre diesel engine with maunal and 6-speed automatic gearbox option and a 1.0 litre, three cylinder turbo petrol engine with DCT and iMT gearbox. The HTE variant is available with a manual gearbox only.
