Maruti Suzuki to launch 4 new SUVs & a new MPV in the next 3 years: Details
Maruti Suzuki is currently largest car manufacturer in the country. They have a large range of cars that they sell in the country, and they currently hold the pole position in the market too. In order to maintain this momentum and strengthen their position in the market, Maruti Suzuki is coming up with new car models. As part of their new strategy or plan, the brand plans to launch number of utility vehicles in the next three years. The car manufacturer will be introducing five new utility vehicles (UV) in the market – one every six months starting from mid-2021 till 2023. Here is the list of vehicles that Maruti Suzuki will be launching in the coming years.
Hyundai Creta rival
By the second half of 2022, Maruti will be launching a mid-size SUV that will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos in the segment. It is expected to be an SUV based on Toyota Raize which is a sub-4 meter SUV. The Maruti’s version of the SUV will be larger than Raize and is expected to known as A-Cross.
Maruti MPV
First vehicle to be launched in the market as part of this new strategy would be a multi-purpose vehicle. This will be developed by Maruti and Toyota jointly as part of their current partnership. Maruti currently has Ertiga and XL6 in this segment and the upcoming model will be the third vehicle in their MPV line up. The same vehicle also be rebadged and sold via Toyota dealerships at a later stage.
New Vitara Brezza
After launching the first product, Maruti will soon start working on an all-new Vitara Brezza SUV. It recently received minor updates as part of BS6 transition. The upcoming Vitara Brezza will be launched in the first half of 2022 and is expected to look different from the current version. It is expected to continue with the petrol engine that is available with the BS6 version.
Crossover
Maruti is expected to launch two products in the second half of 2022. After launching the mid-size SUV they will be introducing a new crossover that is expected to go against Tata Nexon. It will be the second product from Maruti Suzuki in the sub-4 meter crossover segment after Brezza.
4 door Jimny
The last product in this list is probably the most interesting one too. In the first half of 2023, Maruti will finally be launching the most anticipated SUV Jimny in the Indian market. Jimny was showcased in India for the first time at Auto Expo earlier this year. Maruti will be soon manufacturing Jimny for international market and there is a possibility that in 2023, we might get a 4-door version of the SUV to cater the needs of Indian customers.
