Triumph Trident 660 launched at Rs 6.95 lakh

The Triumph Trident 660 has been launched at Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The all-new model is the company’s latest entry-level, street-naked offering and comes to India as a CKD.

Triumph Trident 660: Engine and features

The Trident 660 is powered by a 660cc, inline-triple that makes 81hp and 64Nm of torque. The bike comes with a 6-speed gearbox and a bi-directional quickshifter can be added on as an accessory.

The new Trident features ride-by-wire tech that enables two riding modes (Road and Rain) and adjustable traction control. Traction control can also be turned off in both riding modes. Also on offer is a fully-digital instrument cluster that can be equipped with a Bluetooth module. Equipping this system allows for turn-by-turn navigation, GoPro control and phone and music control.

In fact, Triumph tells us that there’s a total of 45 Triumph accessories that a customer can choose from.

Triumph Trident 660: Chassis

Suspension on the Trident 660 is handled by a Showa USD separate function fork and preload-adjustable monoshock. As for the brakes, it uses a Nissin two-piston front caliper with twin 310mm discs, while the rear has a single-piston caliper. Triumph has used a tubular steel frame that has kept kerb weight down to 189kg. Triumph has also confirmed that the bike will come equipped with Michelin Road 5 tyres. 

Triumph Trident 660 India: Price

At Rs 6.95 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Trident 660 is rather competitively priced. It’s slightly more expensive than rivals like the Kawasaki Z650 which costs Rs 6.18 lakh, and a fair bit more affordable than the recently launched Honda CB650R which costs Rs 8.67 lakh.

Bookings are open at Triumph dealerships across the country. The bike is available in four colour schemes and offers a 16,000km service interval with a 2 year/unlimited km warranty.
