Should you consider the Bolero Neo over the Bolero?
The Bolero Neo is a credible option for someone looking for a tough, rear-wheel drive, seven-seater people mover. In comparison to the older Bolero, the Neo has a more modern chassis, multilink rear suspension, a more powerful 100hp engine (versus the old Bolero’s 76hp), plusher interiors, and some newer, upmarket features. What’s more is the Neo’s lower ride height makes it more convenient to get in and out when compared to the older Bolero. With so many strengths, the Neo is quite literally a no-brainer compared to the old Bolero.
Which is the most value for money variant?
Priced at Rs 8.48 lakh, few thousands lower than the old Bolero, the N4 variant of the Bolero Neo offers incredible value for money. Not only do you get all the Neo’s strengths, as listed above, but it also gets equipment like air-conditioning, four power windows, engine start-stop tech, Eco drive mode, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and corner braking control, rear parking sensors and a 12V power outlet. Sure, it could come across as rather basic and lacking in frills, however, at its current price point, the Neo makes a strong case for itself.
Is the mid-spec variant worth considering?
The one lakh rupee price jump over the N4 variant makes the N8 come across as pricey, especially when you list the additional equipment it packs in. The premium gets you wheel covers, side footsteps, day/night inside mirror, fabric upholstery, 2-din audio system with Bluetooth, USB and AUX, remote-key central locking, and a rear wiper/washer among the notable features.
Is the top-spec well-equipped?
The N10 variant gets premium kit like static cornering lights, DRLs, alloy wheels, height-adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, driver and co-driver armrest, 7-inch touchscreen, electric outside mirror adjustment and ISOFIX child seat anchors on the rear seat, priced under Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom.
The N10 (O) variant is worth waiting for, which in addition to the features listed above is also equipped with a Mechanical Locking Differential (MLD) which significantly improves the Bolero Neo’s grip levels in low-traction situations and makes it more capable to tackle treacherous terrain.
