Humble Mahindra Bolero & Force Gurkha SUVs transformed into Mercedes-Benz G-Class
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagen is one of the most identifiable vehicles. It is a modern classic and has been around for years without much change in its shape. In its latest form, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen is quite expensive and in India, where the SUV is fully imported, the price of a brand-new G-Wagen makes it out of reach of most of the Indians. However, there are many enthusiasts who want to own and drive around in the G-Wagen. To overcome the price tag problem, many Indians have transformed humble cars like the Mahindra Bolero and Force Gurkha into the G-Class! Here are a few best examples from India.
Force Gurkha into Mercedes-Benz G-Class
This transformation job is based on the Force Gurkha and it was done in Kerala. The final product looks extremely good and it has many similarities with the G-Wagen. To start with, the front-end of the Bolero has been transformed completely and it now gets the original G-Wagen’s bumper, bonnet and even the headlamps. These additions make it look authentic. On the sides, the fenders have been sourced from an original G-Wagen too.
The roof of the vehicle has been flattened out and the rear of the vehicle Gurkha has been given a new treatment with LED lamps. On the side, the rear windows give away the camouflage. The modder has not changed the three window set-up to two windows of the G-Wagen. Otherwise, this vehicle can turn a lot of heads on the road.

Here is another conversion of Force Gurkha into G-Wagen and it has costed a total of Rs 6.5 lakhs! The transformation job may seem a bit expensive to many but it is a fraction of the cost of buying a G-Wagen in India. Nonetheless, this transformation job also looks neat with new 3-slat Mercedes-Benz grille at the front. It also gets aftermarket alloy wheels with flared arches.
Even this vehicle retains the three-window design of the original Force Gurkha, which gives away the transformation job. Otherwise, this looks like a neat job that can fool a lot of people.

This Mahindra Bolero G-Wagen wannabe hails from Delhi. The front end looks quite similar to the one found on the German SUV with the Bolero using the same front grille, headlamps and LED lights as the original model. The modified Bolero also sports indicators mounted on the bonnet in a bid to make it look like the G-Class SUV. Another feature similar to the G-Wagen is the side-mounted exhausts.
While the rear isn’t the same as the one on the G-Class, this modified SUV does feature the Gelandewagen’s tail lamps that have been placed vertically instead of horizontally. The Bolero’s engine seems to have been retained as well.
