2020 Suzuki SV650 unveiled
Suzuki has unveiled the updated SV650 and the changes that it brings for 2020 are minor in the form of new colour schemes. Internationally, the bike is available in three variants – the base SV650, an SV650 ABS and the SV650X, each with its own colour scheme.
Mechanically, the motorcycle remains identical to its predecessor and is powered by the 645cc V-twin engine that we’ve experienced on the V-Strom 650 XT on sale in India. Suzuki hasn’t revealed the engine output details of the 2020 SV650, but the V-Strom 650 XT on sale here has peak output figures of 71hp and 62Nm torque. The SV650 also misses out on electronic aids like traction control and switchable ABS that the V-Strom offers.
The international Suzuki website has prices for the 2020 SV650 ABS starting at USD 7,499 (Rs 5.61 lakh). For reference, the V-Strom 650 XT costs USD 9,299 (Rs 6.96 lakh) on the same website and is priced at Rs 7.57 lakh here in India. With this in mind, we could expect to see the SV650 priced between Rs 6.20-6.40 lakh if it does make its way to the Indian market.
