TVS offers Rs 11,000 discount on BS4 two-wheelers

The TVS Motor Company has announced a Rs 11,000 discount on all BS4 two-wheelers, from the Scooty all the way to the Apache RR310. The BS4 XL100 moped, meanwhile, is available with a whopping Rs 7,500 off on the price tag. This is a massive discount, considering the moped is priced at Rs 30,490, making it one of the most affordable two-wheelers in the world. Although it may cost as much as a decently specced smartphone these days, the XL100 is a proper workhorse and one of the most dependable two-wheelers in the market, as we'd established recently

These discounts by TVS are a way to boost sales, amidst the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that has gripped the world. The automobile industry in India was already under immense pressure to sell existing BS4 stock before the BS6 emission norms kicked in on April 1, 2020. Adding to that, the coronavirus scare during February and early March saw showroom walk-ins and inquiries become almost non-existent, slowing down sales to a trickle. The final blow was the 21-day national lockdown to curb the spread of the virus. However, with the recent Supreme Court ruling that granted an extension of the BS4 stock sales till 10 days after lockdown ends (barring the Delhi-NCR regions) and the registration deadline being set to the end of April 2020, these discounts should help dealers push existing stock. 

Considering the current national lockdown, prospective customers can book their two-wheeler online, until stocks last. The registration process will be completed after the lockdown ends and the RTOs begin accepting applications for registration.
