Yamaha R15 BS6 ride review and top speed [Video]
Yamaha R15 is one of the best looking motorcycle in the 150-cc segment. It also happens to be the most powerful of the lot. Like other manufacturers in the country, Yamaha also launched a BS6 version of their most popular model recently. Apart from a BS6 compliant engine, Yamaha had done minor changes to the bike to make it more relevant in the highly competitive 150-cc segment. Yamaha R15 BS6 version is priced at Rs 1,45,300 , ex-showroom Delhi which is Rs 5,000 more pricier than the BS4 version. Here we have a video that shows what all has changed in the BS6 version of the R15 and how does it feel to ride.
The video has been uploaded by Dino’s Vault on his youtube channel. The video starts by showing the changes that are made to the motorcycle. First thing is the paint scheme. The R15 BS6 version now comes in 2 new colour option. First one is the racing lue colour that is similar to the one seen in Yamaha R3 and R1. Other is the matter grey with red accents. The sticker work on the panels have also been updated. The rims now get a blue finish in the racing blue colour.
It now has a radial tyre at the rear and the comes with features like Dual channel ABS. Yamaha has also included a safety feature where the motorcycle won’t start if the side stand is engaged. Apart from that nothing else has changed in the Bs6 version of the R15. The rider then takes it for a ride and falls in love with the motorcycle instantly. The engine feels revv happy and can easily do speeds of up to 130 kmph. The motorcycle felt very light and that is a good quality while riding it in city traffic conditions. According to the video, the engine has enough grunt even at higher RPMs and the acceleration felt linear. All in all the rider was pretty impressed with the way the bike looks, rides and performs.
The Yamaha YZF R15 BS6 version is still powered by a 155cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine that generates 18.34 Bhp and 14.1 Nm of torque. With the BS6 updates, the power figures have slightly come down but is still the most powerful motorcycle in the segment. It is a perfect motorcycle for people who are looking to start their career in motor sports. It reeks of quality, lasts long and handles like a dream.
