Bajaj Dominar 400 BS6 Launched: Prices revealed

The Dominar 400 is currently Indian Two wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto’s flagship model. It is a very capable sporty cruiser motorcycle that can do high speed all day long without breaking a sweat. Just like other manufacturers, Bajaj has also been working on BS6 version of their motorcycles and now they have launched the Dominar 400 in the BS6 avatar. The price for the Dominar 400 BS6 now Rs 1.92 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The BS6 version of the Dominar as expected is slightly expensive than the BS4 version. Even though Bajaj has launched the BS6 version of the bike, it is expected that the deliveries for the same would only be starting once the nationwide lockdown in lifted.


The BS6 version of the motorcycle looks very similar to the older BS4 version. It gets the same bolder, beefier, sporty looking front end with all LED headlamps, 43 mm chunky looking upside down forks and diamond cut alloy wheels. The side profile of the motorcycle carries the muscular look with Dominar badging on the fuel tank. The instrument cluster on the Dominar 400 is fully digital and shows information like fuel level, RPM, speedo, time and even the gear indicator is included in here. The BS6 bike gets a split seat set up and adjustable rear mono-shock suspension. The twin barrel exhaust that came along with the last update gave it a throatier exhaust note.

Both the front and the rear wheels gets a disc brake setup which is available with a dual channel ABS set up for better braking experience. Coming to the engine, mechanically nothing has changed in the BS6 version of the motorcycle. It still gets the same 373.3 cc, single cylinder, triple spark, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine that generates a maximum of 39.4 Bhp and 35 Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox and also gets a slipper clutch as standard.
Bajaj had also launched a smaller version of the Dominar recently with a 250-cc engine. It is mainly aimed at making the Dominar range of motorcycles more popular and affordable among the buyers. It has minor changes in comparison to its elder sibling and is less expensive too. The 250cc Dominar is meant for younger buyers who find the 400cc version too pricey. It’s also meant to appeal to those who want better fuel efficiency, and the 250cc version returns better mileage than the 400cc model, whose key strengths are power and pick up.
