BMW G 310 R & G 310 GS to get 25 % cheaper after BS6 update

BMW Motorrad had launched their cheapest motorcycles G 310 R naked street and G 310 GS adventure tourer in the Indian market couple of years ago. In comparison to the other motorcycles in the market these motorcycles did not become that popular mainly because of the pricing. Both the motorcycles were steeply priced and that stopped many people from buying these good motorcycles. Well, if any of these motorcycles are on your wishlist then there is a good news for you. Both these motorcycles will soon receive a BS6 update and along with the updated engines, the prices of both the motorcycles are also likely to come down by over 25 %. This will make them very attractive to buyers who found them too pricey in the BS4 trim.

According to Indian Autos Blog both these motorcycle will be priced more competitively. At present the BMW G 310 R and BMW G 310 GS has an on-road price of Rs 3.47 lakh and Rs 4.04 lakh respectively in Mumbai. The updated BS6 version of the motorcycles are likely to be priced Rs 75,000 to 85,000 lower than the BS4 versions. This will help them bring down the price and the make the motorcycles more accessible to the customers. With the revised pricing, both BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS will be more relevant in the segment and will compete with motorcycles like KTM Duke 390 and KTM 390 Adventure.

In terms of changes it seems like BMW won’t be making any cosmetic changes to the motorcycles. The changes are likely to be limited to the updated BS6 compliant engine. These motorcycles are made in India and are manufactured at TVS Motors’ facility in Hosur. The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS motorcycles share their engine with the TVS Apache RR 310. However, all three motorcycles are aimed at different kinds of buyers, have totally different styling, ergonomics and stances.

The BMW G 310 R and G 310 GS are powered by a 313-cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine that generates 33.6 Bhp and 28 Nm of peak torque. With the BS6 update the engine is likely to produce the same amount of power and torque. BMW has been offering discounts on these motorcycle ever since they were launched in the market. Both these motorcycles look great. With the cheaper pricing and refined BS6 compliant engine, it seems like more and more buyers would be buying these motorcycles. We can’t wait to take a spin on the BS6 version of these bikes.
