MG Motor offers 100 Hector SUVs to transport frontline staff fighting Corona Virus

MG Motors is a new brand in the Indian market that made its debut last year. Their first product Hector SUV has been a huge success and played a crucial role in building an image for the brand. We are all aware of the ongoing situation in the country due to the Corona virus pandemic. MG has now taken initiative to help the section of people who are working in the front line during this crisis. MG Motor has decided to provide a total of 100 Hector SUVs to doctors, medical staff, police and local government officials for community service across the country, till May 2020.



MG Motors India will be providing 100 Hector SUVs free-of-cost to support the national effort to overcome Corona virus. MG will be providing the cars along with fuel and drivers. The automaker is providing this assistance to doctors, medical staff, police and local government authorities so that they can travel safely during this time. The cars will be supplied via MG’s nationwide network of dealers during the lockdown as per state government rules.


MG Motors will be sanitising the cars at regular intervals and will follow the recently introduced ‘MG Disinfect and Deliver’ process to deploy these 100 Hectors for the national service. Apart from providing the SUVs to health care workers and other sections MG is also involved in offering support to communities during this time. The automaker has already donated ventilators and distributed Health and Hygiene Kits, PPE kits, Surgical Masks, Gloves, Sanitizers, Sanitizer Sprayers, Food and Ration Kits to combat the corona virus threat.



This is not the first time that the brand is providing vehicles to fight the Corona Virus. MG Motors UK is also providing 100 MG ZS electric vehicles to the National Health Service agencies to fight Corona virus pandemic. The Hector is a good looking SUV which is loaded with features. It is quite spacious on the inside and can seat 4-5 people in comfort. The vehicle is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a 1.5 litre unit that generates 141 Bhp and 250 Nm torque and the diesel version uses a 2.0 litre turbocharged unit that produces 170 Bhp and 350 Nm of peak torque. The petrol version gets an optional DCT gearbox along with manual. The diesel version only gets manual gearbox. The Hector will soon get a 6 seat version that will offer a touch more premium-ness. Called the Hector Plus, the new variant of the SUV was displayed at the Auto Expo 2020, and will be launched later this year.
