Skoda Karoq compact SUV: Official video tells you all you need to know
Skoda Auto India participated in the Auto Expo this year and showcased some of their upcoming models in the pavilion. One of the attraction at Skoda was their upcoming mid-size SUV Karoq. Skoda is all set to launch this SUV in the Indian market and they had earlier announced that they will be starting deliveries of this new SUV from 06 May 2020. Bookings for the same has already started and interested buyers can book this SUV SUV via dealership or online via Skoda India website. Before the official launch Skoda has now teased us with a new video that shows what all features this new SUV would be getting.
The video has been uploaded by Skoda India on their official youtube page. The video starts by showing the exterior features and the engine that it would be getting. From the outside the design is sharp and looks somewhat similar to a smaller version of the 7-seater Skoda Kodiaq. On the outside it gets features like all-LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs, uniquely designed sharp looking all-LED tail lamp unit, a panoramic sunroof , sporty looking alloy wheels and so on.
On the inside things are no different, the car has a plush looking interior that makes it look upmarket. The beige leather upholstery gives it an airy feel on the inside, The dashboard well laid out and has black fnish to it with touchscreen infotainment system and ambient lighting feature on it. The instrument cluster on the Karoq is all digital or a ‘virtual cockpit’ as Skoda loves to call it. The driver seats can electrically adjusted to attain a perfect driving position. The Karoq is also a safe car with as many as 9 airbags to protect the passenger in case of an accident.
Just like many other manufacturers, Skoda has also decided that they will be dumping their diesel engines and will be concentrating more on petrol and CNG powered vehicles. The Skoda Kodiaq will only be getting a 1.5 litre turbocharged petrol engine. The engine will generate a maximum of 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission. Skoda won’t be launching the 4×4 version to keep the costs down. The Karoq will take on the likes of the Volkswagen T-Roc, Jeep Compass and Hyundai Tuscon. It’s likely to be priced similar to the Jeep Compass, at about Rs. 15-16 lakh for the base trim.
