2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift launched: Prices start at Rs 9.30 lakh
For nearly a decade, the Hyundai Verna has been one of the most popular mid-size sedans sold in the country. It competes with cars like Maruti Ciaz, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid in the C-segment. Hyundai had unveiled the updated BS6 version of the Verna earlier this year, and now the South Korean automaker has officially launched the car. The facelifted 2020 Hyundai Verna starts at an introductory price of Rs 9.30 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. Bookings are open and deliveries will commence shortly.
The 2020 Hyundai Verna Facelift gets minor changes in terms of design at the front. The front of the car gets a bold design with larger grille, a redesigned bumper, new all LED headlamps, new fog lamp design and so on. The 2020 version looks a more premium, and sharper than the outgoing BS4 version. Even before the official launch, the Verna had reached many dealerships across the country. The price for the BS6 Hyundai Verna starts at Rs 9.30 lakh and goes up to Rs 15.09 lakh, ex-showroom.

Speaking at the launch of The Spirited New VERNA, Mr. S S Kim, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said,
The Spirited New VERNA is an All-rounder sedan with Human Technology Connect comprising Futuristic Design, Smart Connect, Ingenious Detailing and Superior Dynamics for new age aspirational customers.
The 2020 Verna is available with three engine options – two in petrol and one in diesel. Most variants of the car are powered by BS6 compliant 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engines. Apart from these motors, some variants of the new Verna get a 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine too. In comparison to the regular versions, the sportier Turbo version gets twin tip muffler, glossy black grille along with all black interiors.
Just like any other Hyundai car, Verna is also feature loaded. Key features include ventilated front seats, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, BlueLink connectivity features electric sunroof, touchscreen infotainment screen and so on. The car is offered with safety features such as ABS, EBD, Airbags, ESC, Vehicle Stability Management, Emergency Stops signal, front park assist sensors and rear disc brakes.
The 1.5 litre petrol engine generates a maximum of 115 PS and 114 Nm torque and is available with a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The 1.5 litre diesel unit that generates 115 Ps and 250 Nm of peak torque is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6 speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The powerful 1.0 litre turbo petrol engine generates 120 PS and 172 Nm of torque. It is only available in SX(O) trim and is available with a 7-speed DCT gearbox only.
