2020 Maruti Suzuki Dzire LXI base variant walkaround review on video

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer launched the facelifted version of the Dzire just before the lockdown started in India. Since the transportation and manufacturing of new cars were not allowed after the lockdown, the new Dzire did not reach the dealerships. However, with the relaxed lockdown rules, Maruti Suzuki has started dispatching the Dzire to the dealerships. Here is a walkaround video that shows the new facelifted Dzire from all around.

This video has been put by Arun Panwar and it shows the base LXI version of the car. The video describes all the specifications and features of the base version. He starts by showing the front-end of the vehicle that gets a new grille. The new single slat grille is larger in size and since this is the entry-level base version of the car, it does not get any chrome surroundings. The headlamps of the base variant get regular halogen lamps with integrated turn indicators. There are no DRLs and projector headlamps available with this version. Also, there are no fog lamps. The base LXI version comes with body-coloured bumper and black door handles and mirrors. This version also gets regular 14-inch steel rims. The rear does not get any changes.

There is no central locking and no powered windows. The dashboard gets a dual-tone theme and looks quite good. The base version of the car also gets a simple single pod instrument cluster that does not get any tachometer. There is a single speedometer console with warning lamps. There is a digital monochrome screen that shows the fuel level of the vehicle and also the odometer and trip meters. Even the base version of the Dzire gets the adjustable steering. There is no stereo or infotainment system in the centre. The AC controls are manual. It also gets a regular IRVM. The video also shows the boot space, which is 378 litres.

The Dzire comes with the new BS6 compliant DualJet 1.2-litre petrol engine. It generates a maximum power of 90 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. It gets a five-speed manual transmission. The higher-end variants also get an option of AMT automatic transmission. The new engine is more powerful than the previous K12B engine and this same engine also powers the likes of Baleno. It also returns a higher fuel efficiency of 24.12 km/l, which makes it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the segment.

Apart from that, there are no changes in the car. The higher-end variants get additional variants like cruise control system, a coloured TFT MID, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs and a new 7.0-inch SmartPlay infotainment system. All the variants get dual airbags, ABS+EBD, parking sensors and speed alerts as standard.
