How this Indian barber ended up owning a multi-crore Rolls Royce Ghost

How often do we dream of becoming super-rich but it remains a dream only? Here is a story of a barber who became rich enough to buy a Rolls Royce among many other high-end luxury cars. How did it happen?

Ramesh Babu, a barber from Bengaluru, Karnataka started expanding his business and over the years, after working hard, he owns a wide range of luxury cars. The most expensive car in his garage is a Rolls Royce Ghost. Ramesh Babu’s journey has become an inspiration for many. So much that he has even given several TEDx speeches. Even after becoming a multi-millionaire, he remains in his profession of cutting hair.

Apart from the Rolls Royce Ghost, Ramesh Babu also owns vehicles like Mercedes-Maybach S500, BMW 7-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Mercedes-Benz V-Class, BMW 5-Series, Honda Accord, Honda CR-V, and a Toyota Camry. Ramesh Babu owns more than 200 cars in total and most of the cars are from German luxury carmakers – BMW and Volvo.

Why so many cars?

With 200 cars, Ramesh Babu is in car-related business. He uses most of his cars in the Ramesh Tour and Travels, in which he rents the cars for various purposes. He has a car for everyone and also has a list of high-end clientele. His client list even includes likes of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Aishwarya Rai who rent his vehicles whenever he is in the town. Even popular politicians and rich industrialists hire cars from Ramesh Babu.

So how did he reach here?

Ramesh Babu took charge of the salon after his father passed away. Ramesh Babu took charge of the finances and started cutting down the operational costs in the salon. After saving enough money, he bought the first car in 1994. His first car was a Maruti Suzuki Omni and it all started there. Ramesh Babu used the Omni as a taxi car and gave it out on rent. This helped him to grow the business and by 2004, he owned as many as seven cars. He used all the vehicles for his tour and travel company.

At present, he has an expansive tour and travel business with more than 200 cars. He even rents out the Rolls Royce and the charges per day can be around Rs 50,000. However, you can get a haircut from him by paying Rs 100. He keeps on adding on new cars to his business every now and then and created an empire out of nothing. It sure is a truly touching and inspiring story and we hope we all can work hard and achieve our dreams someday.
