Jeep Compass facelift launch date revealed

Jeep Compass, the only SUV from the American SUV maker that is made in India is quite a popular SUV in the Indian market. Jeep launched the all-new Compass in 2017 and since then no visual changes have been introduced to the car. Well, Jeep is ready to launch the new updated version of the Compass, and it will first launch in the international markets before coming to the Indian market.

Jeep has officially announced the launch date of the facelifted Compass. It will be revealed officially on 4th June 2020 and is likely to be launched in the Brazilian market first. The Indian market will get similar changes but only by the end of this year or by early next year.

While Jeep has only released a teaser image of the upcoming Compass, the pictures of the updated vehicle were leaked sometime back. The leaked pictures show that the Compass will get a new front-end with new grille and bumper. The headlamps are also new and look. Jeep Compass will retain the seven-slat iconic grille but it will now get honeycomb inserts, which will make it look much sportier than before. There will not be many changes in the body of the vehicle. However, we may get to see new alloy wheels that will ensure an overall newer look for the vehicle.

The new Jeep Compass will also get the updated UConnect system that will offer connectivity features. Since cars like MG Hector, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta already offer such features, the Jeep UConnect will equip the Compass with similar features. The new infotainment system will get a 12.3-inch portrait-style setup. The new system will also offer features like Amazon Alexa and will support wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems if the phones are compatible with the system. The system will be able to track the vehicle in real-time. Due to the change in the infotainment system, the dashboard will be completely revamped. Jeep, however, has not officially announced the plan to include the new UConnect in the Compass that will launch in India. It is quite possible that the Indian version will get a stripped-down version to keep the cost in check.

The Compass in India will not get any engine changes. It will continue to get powered by the same 1.4-litre MultiAir petrol and a 2.0-litre Mutijet diesel engine options. The petrol engine produces a maximum power of 163 PS while the diesel engine produces a maximum of 173 PS. The manual and dual-clutch automatic transmission options will be available with both the engine options.
