This modified Bajaj Dominar 400 looks adventure ready [Video]

In the last couple of years, more and more manufacturers are coming up with adventure motorcycles. In the affordable adventure motorcycle segment, we have Hero XPulse, Royal Enfield Himalayan, BMW G 310 GS and recently launched KTM 390 Adventure. Bajaj Dominar is a popular sports tourer motorcycle and is quite powerful too. Check out this first-gen Bajaj Dominar that has been modified into a proper adventure tourer motorcycle. Here we have a video that shows the modifications that have been done on the motorcycle to make it adventure ready.

The video has been uploaded by Adv JVD on his youtube channel. The video starts by showing what all changes are made to the motorcycle. Starting with the front, the motorcycle gets a huge windscreen at the front. The stock mudguard has been removed and has been replaced with an aftermarket unit. The handlebar is now wider than before and the owner has also installed handlebar risers.

The front suspension of the motorcycle has also been slightly tweaked for better performance. Other noticeable change is the spoke wheels. The alloy wheels on the Dominar 400 has been replaced with a 19 inch and 18 inch spoke wheels at front and rear respectively. The new spoke wheels and the off-road tyre have also helped increase the ground clearance of the motorcycle. There is a bash plate installed at the bottom and it also gets an engine guard for better protection.

The stock footpegs have also been also been removed and are replaced with aftermarket units. Coming to the rear, the video says, the rear mono-shock suspension has been borrowed from 2019 Dominar and is adjusted to match the vloggers weight. The sprocket has also been modified to improve the gearing ratio. The engine of this Dominar remains the same and no modifications are made to it.

This is the older Dominar that is powered by a 373 cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine generating 35 Bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. The 2019 version of the Dominar is powered by the same engine but generates 5 Bhp more than the older version. According to the video, this whole project took around 3 months to complete. Dominar is a very good motorcycle for touring and with these modifications in place the motorcycle definitely looks adventure ready.

Bajaj has tied up with Pune-based Autologue Customs for an ADV kit for the Dominar. Autologue Customs has already begun building kits for the bike, and you can soon buy it from Bajaj dealerships.
