2020 Honda WR-V facelift spotted in showrooms before official launch

Honda will soon launch the 2020 WR-V, which is a facelift version of the car. Honda started accepting the bookings for the upcoming sub-4m compact SUV a few weeks ago and the latest pictures show that the car has even reached a few showrooms across India. The 2020 WR-V was expected to be launched an in April but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdown, the launch was deferred. Now that the lockdown restrictions are slowly getting lifted, Honda might launch the car in the coming few days. The booking amount of the car is Rs 21,000.

A report on ZigWheels shows that the new WR-V has reached the dealership. We are not sure if all the dealerships across India have received the WR-V yet but it shows that Honda has started dispatching the car and you will be able to check it out at your nearest Honda showroom.

The new Honda WR-V will get a lot of cosmetic changes, especially to the front-end of the car, which will keep it fresh in the market. The car will be available in two variants – SV and VX. Even after the BS6 emission norms, Honda will continue to offer both petrol and diesel engine options with the upcoming WR-V.

The changes in the front of the WR-V include a new redesigned grille with new LED projector lamps. It looks much more modern than the previous version and increases the road presence by quite a lot. The diesel variants of the WR-V will get newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels. However, the petrol variants are likely to retain the older design.

Apart from the changes on the outside, the cabin remains almost the same. The car gets redesigned upholstery but the layout of the dashboard and everything else remain identical to the previous version. The WR-V gets a touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay system, automatic climate control system cruise control, sunroof, keyless entry and lock, push-button start-stop, a MID and more. The car also comes with a long list of safety features including dual airbags, ABD with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a rear parking camera.

The engine options will remain unchanged. There will be a 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 90 PS and the diesel variants will utilise the 1.5-litre engine that generates a maximum power of 100 PS. Both the engine options will get a manual transmission. Honda will not offer the automatic option just like the previous version of the WR-V.
