The Fortuner is one of the most popular luxury SUVs in the country and Toyota has been working on an updated version of the current version for quite some time. We have seen leaked images of the upcoming Toyota Fortuner and have fair idea on what the SUV would look like. Just like many other cars, Toyota would be launching the updated Fortuner in Thailand initially. According to reports, Toyota will be launching the facelifted Fortuner luxury SUV on the 4th of June 2020 at Thailand.

It seems like only the diesel version of the SUV will be getting this power update. The 2.7 litre-4 cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine is likely to generate the same amount of power as before, which is 164 Bhp of peak power and 245 Nm of peak torque. 6 speed manual as well as torque converter automatic options with 2 wheel drive will be offered. There won’t be a four wheel drive option on the petrol powered Fortuner.

Fortuner

Toyota has tried giving the upcoming Fortuner a more butch look in comparison to the current version. Starting from the front, the SUV looks more sharp and sleek with a revised bumper, front grille and fog lamp design. The headlights have also been redesigned to give it a more aggressive look. On the side profile, the major changes are a new set of alloy wheels apart from that everything remains the same. The rear of the car also gets some updates like a redesigned bumper with ‘L’ shaped garnish around reflector lights. The tail lights on this facelifted are also expected to get an update.

On the inside, the basic layout of the SUV is expected to remain the same however, Fortuner might get an updated touchscreen infotainment system and a new colour tone for cabin, 360 degree camera and a few other feature additions. Do stay tuned for actual images of the new SUV as the Thai launch is just days away.
