Movie star ‘Bahubali’ Prabhas gifts gym trainer a swanky Range Rover Velar worth Rs. 89 lakh

At a time when gyms across the country are shut due to the Corona Virus pandemic, one gym trainer has a BIG reason to smile. No it’s not because gyms are open but because of a very expensive car gift. Laxman Reddy, actor Prabhas’ gym trainer, just got gifted a Range Rover Velar luxury SUV worth Rs. 89 lakh. This gift was courtesy the Bahubali actor Prabhas. This is probably the most expensive car gift that any actor in India has gifted his gym trainer/personal staff. The last expensive car gift we can recollect is a Jeep Compass, which was gifted by Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez to her make up artist a couple of years ago. Click here to read that story.

Coming to the Range Rover Velar, the luxury SUV that has a striking resemblance to even more expensive Range Rover such as the Sport and Vogue is meant to be a challenger to the likes of the Audi Q7 and the Mercedes Benz GLE, in price terms. Unlike the Audi Q7’s 7 seat layout, buyers of the Velar get a 5 seat layout, which is similar to what’s offered on the Mercedes Benz GLE.

Land Rover has decided to go with a petrol-only approach in the Indian market for now, which means that the Range Rover Velar gets a single engine option: a 2 liter-4 cylinder turbocharged petrol with 247 Bhp of peak power and 365 Nm of peak torque. An 8 speed torque converter automatic gearbox drives all four wheels of this luxury SUV through an all wheel drive system.

In terms of features on offer, the Range Rover Velar – like most SUVs of the British marque – is loaded to the gills in terms of safety equipment and luxury features. From 6 airbags and traction control to ABS, ESP, hill hold, hill descent control, cruise control and all wheel drive, the Velar has an impressive safety feature list.

Leather seats that are 14 way adjustable for the driver and front passenger, and electrically tilt-able for the rear seat passengers, a panoramic sunroof, a 6 speaker touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, quad zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents and parking assist are the other key features offered on this luxury SUV. Range Rover launched the Velar in India last year. The SUV is assembled at Land Rover’s factory in Chikhali, off Pune, through the completely knocked down (CKD) kit route, a key reason for the luxury SUV’s sharp price tag.
