Nissan Magnite bookings open; booking amount starts at Rs 11,000
The upcoming Nissan Magnite will see a price announcement in the coming weeks. While a lot has already been revealed about the Magnite, we can today confirm that a handful of Nissan dealers have unofficially begun accepting bookings for the compact SUV for an amount ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 25,000. Nissan India is soon expected to announce an official commencement of bookings for the Magnite, along with more details.

Nissan Magnite variants, pricing and rivals
We had reported last week that prices for the Magnite are expected to start from around Rs 5.50 lakh for the XE and go up to Rs 9.55 lakh for the top-spec XV Premium CVT variant. Read the complete Nissan Magnite pricing break-up here.
As far as variants go, the Magnite compact SUV will be sold in multiple variants – XE, XL, XV High and XV Premium – and there will also be a Technology pack on offer that is expected to cost Rs 25,000-30,000 more. Read our Nissan Magnite variant break-up here.
With the expected Rs 5.50 lakh starting price, the Magnite will undercut all its rivals in the compact SUV segment, which has contenders like the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
Nissan Magnite engine and gearbox details
The upcoming Nissan Magnite compact SUV will be available with two petrol engine options – a 72hp, 1.0-litre, naturally aspirated unit paired to a 5-speed manual, and a 1.0-liter, turbo-charged unit (HRA0) that’s good for 100hp and 160Nm of torque. The 1.0 turbo-petrol will come with the choice of either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic (with which torque drops to 152Nm). There will be no diesel engine option on the Magnite.
